新教师培训启动
此外，成都墨尔文以“Thrive Excellence in Everything We Do（卓越精进，全面发展）”为年度教育主题，全面启动了新学年筹备工作。
8月18日，新晋教师培训正式开启，为新学期的精彩旅程奠定坚实基础。8月25日，全体教职工将正式返岗，更多学术课程、学生培养、培优计划（Gifted and Talented Programme）及学术艺体竞赛等全景规划，即将揭晓。
培训首日，新教师在招生团队的带领下深度探校。从标志性的圆顶图书馆、C.S. Lewis高年级学习中心，到配备顶尖设施的室内体育馆、黑箱剧院、恒温泳池；从功能齐备的教学楼到温馨舒适的学生宿舍——每一处空间，都将成为他们与学子并肩成长的“主战场”。
校园参观之后，一场温馨而活泼的破冰活动拉近了彼此的距离。来自世界各地的教师们用个性化的自我介绍，迅速融入墨尔文大家庭。
今年的新教师团队背景多元、经验丰富：拥有近30年教学经验的Shayna Coughlan女士将主导中学德育与寄宿管理；来自澳大利亚的Catherine Johnson女士深耕语言与文学领域；Willem Groenewald老师拥有食品科学博士背景；来自美国的Jason Roden老师则已有超过12年在华教学经验。更令人惊喜的是，深受学生喜爱的“数学男神”董伟老师也已回归，加入小学部。他们，将为成都墨尔文注入新的卓越动能。更多教师故事，敬请期待！
迎新会上，Michael Urquhart校长向新教师介绍了管理团队，并诚挚分享学校的愿景、教育理念及社区文化，传递出墨尔文对优质教育的不懈追求。
培训不仅限于校园。8月19日，新教师们走进天府农博园，感受新津的自然生态与成都兼容并蓄的城市气质。地道的川味美食、传统与现代交融的人文风貌，进一步加深了他们对这座城市的理解与热爱。尤其对外籍教师而言，真诚、团结、卓越的墨尔文文化，已悄然扎根心中。
接下来，新教师将与全体墨尔文教育者一道，全心投入开学准备，以专业与热忱，迎接每一位学生的到来。
新学年即将启航，我们期待与新力量一起，书写更多成长与突破的故事。

A-Level and IGCSE Results 2025 Announced!Malvern College Chengdu Students Excel Once Again, Leading the Way in Academic Achievement!
We are delighted to announce that our U6 students have achieved outstanding results in this year's A-Level examinations,
significantly surpassing UK
national averages across
multiple key measures:
51% of grades at A*–A
74% of grades at A*–B
87% of grades at A*–C
26% of students achieved Full UMS marks
It is particularly noteworthy that the 2025 averageA*–A rate for UK independent schools was 48.5%.At51%A*–A achievement, Malvern College Chengdu’s students have again exceeded this level, reflecting the ongoing strength and competitiveness of our international education.

New Staff Training
As the 2025-2026 academic year approaches, Malvern College Chengdu has embraced the educational theme:Thrive Excellence in Everything We Do.with the entire school committing to pursuing excellence across all areas.
On August 18th, New Staff Training marked the beginning of this exciting journey, laying a solid foundation for the year ahead. On August 25th, all teaching and administrative staff will officially return to campus, with further details being unveiled in relation toacademic programmes, student development initiatives, the Gifted and Talented Programme, as well as co-curricular plans in arts, sports, and competitions.

On the first day of induction, the new teachers were given a comprehensive tour of the campus by the admissions team. From the iconic Dome Library and the C.S. Lewis Senior Learning Centre to state-of-the-art facilities including the indoor sports hall, black box theatre, and temperature-controlled swimming pool; from well-equipped teaching buildings to comfortable boarding houses -- each space will serve as a future "battleground" where teachers and students will learn and grow together.
Following the tour, a warm and engaging ice-breaking session helped bridge the distances between colleagues. Teachers from around the world introduced themselves in unique ways, quickly becoming a part of the Malvern community.
This year's new teaching team brings a wealth of international experience and diverse expertise:Ms Shayna Coughlan, with her nearly 30 years of teaching experience, will lead Pastoral and Boarding in the secondary school.; Ms Catherine Johnson from Australia is a specialist in language and literature; Dr Willem Groenewald brings a PhD in Food Science; and Mr Jason Roden from the US brings over 12 years of teaching experience in China. Together, they will inject fresh energy into Malvern College Chengdu's pursuit of excellence. More stories will follow soon!
During the welcome session, Headmaster Michael Urquhart introduced the senior leadership team and extended a warm welcome to all new staff. He shared the school's vision, educational philosophy, and community culture, reflecting Malvern's unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality education.
Induction activities went beyond campus boundaries as on August 19th, new teachers visited Tianfu Agricultural Expo Park in Xinjin, experiencing the natural ecology and cultural blend that defines Chengdu. Authentic Sichuan cuisine and the city's harmony of tradition and modernity further deepened their connection to the local community. For international teachers especially, the values of sincerity, unity, and excellence—core to Malvern's culture—are already taking root.
In the coming days, new teachers will join the entire Malvern community in preparing for the new term, ready to welcome every student with professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm.
The new academic year is about to begin. We look forward to achieving new growth and breakthroughs together with our 'New Force'.
