Part1:Writing

Do you think the things you write would change?

词组搭配:writing style(写作风格)personal experiences(个人经历)change over time(随着时间而改变)new perspectives(新的视角)life stage / phase of life(人生阶段)

参考回答:Yes, I think the things I write would definitely change over time. As I grow older and go through different experiences, my writing style and topics naturally evolve. For example, when I was a kid, I wrote mostly about fun things like cartoons or games. But now, I tend to write more about my thoughts, goals, or things that happen in real life. I think our writing reflects where we are in life.

考情速递|5月10日雅思机经出炉!

The line chart gives information about the number of visitors to five different museums in the UK during a decade from 1999 to 2019.

Overall, the number of visitors to the Art Museum, Science Museum, and Natural History Museum showed an upward trend, while the opposite was true for the other two kinds of museums during the period shown.

In 1999, the Art museum was the most popular one, attracting 100,000 visitors, and then it witnessed a dramatic rise to around 150,000 in the final year. Similarly, there was a significant increase in the figure for the Science Museum from about 70,000 to approximately 130,000 in 2019. The number of visitors to the Natural History Museum was the lowest, at merely 50,000 in 1999, after which it rose gradually to 60,000 at the end of the period.

By contrast, the number of visitors to the History Museum dropped steadily from 80,000 to about 61,000 in 2019. The cultural museum shared a similar trend in the number of visitors, with a decrease from 60,000 to only 42,000 in 2019.

大作文-健康类

Some people think everyone should be a vegetarian, because they do not need to eat meat to stay health. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

有些人认为每个人都应该成为素食主义者,因为他们不需要吃肉来保持健康。你在多大程度上同意或不同意?

In contemporary society, the question of which diet is best for promoting both mental and physical health has sparked extensive debate. A number of individuals strongly advocate for the widespread adoption of vegetarianism, asserting that meat-free diets can be equally as healthy as traditional omnivorous ones. While I do agree to some extent that a vegetarian diet may help reduce the risk of certain health issues, I firmly believe that completely eliminating meat from one's diet due to health concerns is a flawed argument.

On one side, there is no denying that a plant-based diet offers numerous health advantages. Contrary to common misconceptions, such a diet can supply vegetarians with a rich array of vital vitamins and nutrients necessary for maintaining proper bodily functions. Moreover, studies have shown that vegetarians tend to have a lower risk of developing serious health conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and certain forms of cancer. This is largely because they avoid the high levels of fat and cholesterol typically associated with meat-based diets. For example, recent research has preliminarily demonstrated that a vegetarian diet can reduce the incidence of bowel cancer in men by as much as one-fifth. This evidence clearly indicates that a diet composed solely of plants and herbs can not only enhance our overall health but also act as a safeguard against chronic diseases.

On the other hand, the significance of meat in the human diet cannot be underestimated. Meat and fish, in particular, are the primary sources of essential nutrients like vitamin B12 and iodine. Adequate intake of these nutrients is crucial for maintaining cognitive function, regulating metabolism, and supporting the immune system. Since these nutrients are not abundantly present in plant-based foods, vegetarians often need to rely on supplements to make up for the deficiency. Additionally, people's dietary choices regarding meat consumption are influenced by a variety of factors, including personal health conditions and lifestyle preferences. Therefore, forcing a ban on meat consumption would likely harm a large segment of the population. Many individuals would be compelled to adopt vegetarianism without fully understanding how to follow the diet correctly, potentially leading to nutritional imbalances.

In summary, although plant-based foods can effectively protect against certain health problems, the unique nutrients provided by animal-based foods make meat an essential component of a balanced diet. From a health perspective, rather than choosing between a diet that emphasizes one type of food over another, the key lies in carefully planning one's meals to ensure that all necessary nutrients are included, and deficiencies are avoided.
