盼望着盼望着，新一期「裁判零距离」终于来啦！！（撒花）上一期裁判零距离我们给大家分享了在PF赛事中，哪些选手更容易获得裁判的青睐？本期，我们再来聊聊JWSD赛事！由于青少年世界学校辩论（JWSD）通常针对7-13周岁的选手开放报名选手之间可能存在年龄差较大的情况。那么，年龄跨度会对裁决产生影响吗？裁判最看重的究竟是哪些方面呢？

The age span introduces diversity in style but shouldn’t affect fairness. Younger debaters often excel in creativity, while older ones leverage experience. The key is adapting criteria to content for example logic depth rather than delivery.

I focus on potential and growth rather than comparing them to older debaters. Focusing on clarity of though (can they express ideas coherently, even if simplistically), engagement (do they respond to opponents’ points, or just recite prepared material) and effort (Willingness to tackle complex topics is rewarded, even if execution falters).

年龄跨度增添了辩论赛场上风格的多样性，但这不应该影响比赛的公平性。较年轻的辩手通常在创造力方面表现出色，而年龄稍大的辩手则会利用他们的丰富经验取得优势。重点在于要调整执裁标准到以内容为主，例如更看重逻辑深度而非表达方式。

我更关注的是选手的潜力和成长，而不是简单将年轻辩手与“老辩手”进行比较。我会专注于选手思路的清晰性（他们是否能够连贯地表达想法，即使观点简单）、比赛中的参与度（他们会积极回应对手的观点，还是只会背诵准备好的材料）以及努力程度（即使执行上有所欠缺，愿意处理复杂的主题也会得到认可）。

I don’t believe that age makes a significant difference in JWSD. What truly matters is how effectively a contestant constructs their argument, presents their points, and engages with the topic. Whether someone is a few years older or younger, strong critical thinking and clear communication are what really stand out.

My judging is based on the quality of the debate—focusing on logic, structure, and delivery—not age. A well-prepared and thoughtful argument can come from anyone!

我认为年龄差距在JWSD赛事中并非关键因素。真正重要的是辩手如何有效地构建论点、阐述观点并深入剖析。无论年龄大小，出色的批判性思维和清晰的表达才是真正的核心。

我的评判始终基于辩论质量——关注逻辑严谨性、结构完整性和呈现效果，而非年龄差异。因为，一段准备充分、见解独到的论述，可能来自于任何年龄的选手！

Older debaters do tend to be more mature and fluent in their expression, but that’s not always the case. Some younger participants are able to present strong and clear arguments using simple language, which can be just as effective—and sometimes even lead them to win against older opponents.

Since debate emphasizes substance and logical structure more than just delivery —unlike public speaking — so young debaters, with proper training, can perform impressively well.

First and foremost, I evaluate the quality of the content they deliver. I follow the JWSD judging criteria to assess the relative persuasiveness of each team and determine the winner accordingly.

When it comes to younger contestants, I make sure the judging remains fair while also offering them as much encouragement as possible. At their age, building confidence and sustaining enthusiasm are especially important. So, during the round, I try to guide them to focus not only on the outcome but also on areas where they can improve. I always highlight what they did well without hesitation, helping them clearly recognize their progress.

的确，年纪较大的辩手通常会表现得更成熟、表达更流畅，但这并非绝对。一些年轻的选手虽用词简练，却能提出有力、清晰的论点，其效果毫不逊色，有时甚至能击败年纪较大的对手。

由于辩论更注重实质内容与逻辑结构，而非如公众演讲那样侧重于表达技巧，经过适当的训练，年轻辩手同样能展现惊艳的表现。

我的评判始终以内容质量为核心，严格遵循JWSD评分标准，评估双方的相对说服力来裁定胜负。

面对年轻选手时，我既会确保公正评判，更会不遗余力地给予鼓励——在这个成长阶段，建立信心与保持热情尤为重要。因此在比赛中，我会引导他们不仅关注结果，更要关心自己可改进之处。我总会明确指岀他们的亮点，帮助他们清晰地感知自己的进步。

Not necessarily. Over my personal debating career I’ve come across some highly competitive students who were still at grade 6 to 9. They were much better debaters than me, as a university student but an amateur in debating back then. I gather exposure and experience to debating matters more than age issue. During the 2024 Jiading JWSD offline tournament I also came across a team of highly competitive primary school students. It impresses me more.

I evaluate younger contestants as normal debaters. I always highlight the quality of logical analysis first.

在我个人的辩论生涯中，我遇到过一些极具竞争力的六到九年级的学生。他们的辩论水平比当时作为大学生但只是辩论新手的我要好得多。我认为对于辩论而言，见识和经验比年龄更重要。在 2024 年嘉定 JWSD 线下比赛中，我还遇到过一队实力很强的小学生。这给我留下了更深刻的印象。

在我眼里，年轻的辩手跟普通辩手没有什么不一样。我始终会看重逻辑分析的质量。

1、年龄差距不会影响评判的公平性，评判标准一般会聚焦内容，在JWSD中，相较于表达方式，裁判往往更看重逻辑深度。

2、辩论核心在于有效构建论点、展现批判性思维与清晰表达，年龄并非决定胜负的关键因素。

3、评判以辩论质量为基准，关注逻辑严谨性、结构完整性与呈现效果，严格遵循评分标准裁定胜负。

4、裁判重视年轻辩手的潜力与成长，会关注其思路清晰度、比赛参与度和努力程度。

5、辩论中见识和经验比年龄更重要，年轻辩手经过训练也能凭借有力论点展现出色表现。
