本学期,小学语文部围绕“以学生为中心”的教育理念,在课堂教学、阅读推广和语言表达等方面取得富有成效的进步。

1、让阅读“行走”起来

我们始终重视阅读。根据不同年段学生的兴趣和能力,精心设计了各种阅读活动,通过一系列丰富的形式,从整本书阅读到亲子共读、基于项目的阅读到主题探究,对课程进行补充;并通过阅读单、推荐卡、读书汇报卡、每日演讲及班级读书会等形式,让课内阅读与课外延伸相辅相成。

在公共阅读空间开展的“行走课堂·读书创作分享会”备受欢迎。学生们自豪地展示并讲解了自己原创的书签和读书卡,并通过开放、互动的方式与同伴及家长分享他们的阅读故事。这场活动让阅读变得鲜活,成为了一次真正共享且充满活力的体验。

2、丰富多彩的语文活动

从课本故事演绎、阅读分享会、到神话故事创作、演讲比赛、辩论大赛,我们的语文活动内容丰富、设计巧妙,与课程体系高度契合,既激发了学生的表达热情,也为他们提供了展示才华的多样舞台。

3、跨地域书信交流

本学期,我们与香港墨尔文学校伙伴之间的书信互动仍在继续,八十多封书信在两地学生之间往来,内容涵盖家乡美食、校园生活及个人兴趣等丰富话题。这场温暖的“跨地域文化之旅”不仅拉近了学生之间的距离,也培养了他们的同理心,拓宽了他们的国际视野。

4、第四届国际青少年中文写作大赛

在《遇见·形状》的主题引导下,孩子们以真挚、富有创意的文字表达内心世界,本届比赛一共13人成功提交作品,8人获奖,获奖率61.5%。这一优异成绩不仅展现了学生们不断提升的写作能力,也体现了他们在文化理解与情感表达方面的日益精进。

This term, the Prep School Chinese Department adopted a pupil-centred approach and achieved meaningful progress in classroom teaching, reading development, and language expression.

1、Bringing Reading to Life

Reading has always been a priority. Tailored to each pupils' interests and abilities, our reading initiatives have been carefully designed to complement the curriculum through a range of engaging formats, from whole-book reading with parent-child sessions, project-based reading to themed inquiries. Tools such as reading logs, book recommendation cards, book report templates, daily speeches, and class book clubs have helped to create strong connections between in-class reading and wider learning beyond the classroom.

The "Mobile Reading Classroom & Book Creation Showcase", held in our public reading spaces, proved especially popular. Pupils proudly created and presented their original bookmarks and book review cards while telling their stories, through open, interactive sessions with peers and parents. The event brought reading to life and made it a truly shared and dynamic experience.

2、A Rich Array of Chinese Language Activities

From story dramatizations and reading forums to mythology writing, speech contests and debates, our language activities were thoughtfully aligned with the curriculum- inspiring pupils' enthusiasm for expression and providing rich opportunities to showcase their talents.

3、Cross-Regional Letter Exchange

This term, our pen-pal exchange with peers from Malvern College Hong Kong continued to flourish. More than 80 letters were exchanged, filled with stories of favourite hometown delicacies, school life, and personal interests. This gentle "cultural journey" across distance encouraged pupils to connect culturally, nurtured empathy and broadened their worldviews.

4、The 4th International Chinese Writing Competition for Youth

Under the theme "Encounter·Shape", pupils used expressive, sincere, and creative writing to explore their inner worlds.A total of 13 entries were submitted, with eight pupils receiving awards -- an impressive 61.5% success rate. These results reflect not only their developing writing skills but also their growing sensitivity to cultural and emotional expression.
